Swabs, Jags and Brushes: Building a Complete Gun Care Accessories Line
Kits win the first sale; accessories win the reorders. For a distributor building a private label line, the accessories family — swabs, brushes, jags, mops — is where repeat volume lives, and it can all be sourced from one production base.
Pointed swabs: the detail-cleaning workhorse
Cotton swabs with pointed tips (our 200-piece pack is the reference SKU) serve bolt channels, slide rails, trigger groups and optic mounts — everywhere a patch cannot reach. Bamboo or plastic stems, tightly wound cotton, no loose fibers. Because they are consumed fast, they are the natural "add a second unit" item in marketplace bundles.
Brushes: nylon, brass, or both
Bore brushes come in nylon (safe on all finishes, chemical-resistant) and brass (more aggressive on carbon). A sensible retail ladder: nylon for daily use, brass for heavy carbon. Caliber coverage matters more than brush count — a .22/.38/9mm/.45 rifle-and-pistol spread covers the majority of the market, the same logic as jag assortments.
Jags and mops: the precision tier
Jags and cotton mops attach to the same 8-32 threaded rod and complete the patch system — we compared set configurations in the brass jag guide. Mops apply solvent and oil evenly; jags push patches for the final dry pass. Selling them as one "bore system" family lifts average order value.
One factory, one carton
All four families share packaging formats and export carton sizes, which keeps freight density high and mixed-container loading simple.
